Buy NowAppa is a 2019 Nepali social drama film written and directed by the filmmaker Anmol Gurung, and the film was produced by the Darjeeling heart of Mountain Stories Pvt Ltd: it is a rare, honest look at the border life of the Nepali-speaking communities of India and Nepal. The film, whose title means father in the Nepali language, was released in the cinema halls of Nepal on 28 June 2019, and in the same year it became the first Nepali film to be released in the multiplexes of India in the 25 cities of Assam and Meghalaya, the historic release of the film. It stars the famous actor Daya Hang, in the shoes, as Birkh, with the debut actors Allon and the Raj Tamore, the supporting roles and the veteran Tulsi Gir, and the cinematography of the film is by the observant photographer and the film is only about 100 minutes long.
The story of the film is the heart of the hill: Birkh is a father who lives in Darjeeling, a man with a difficult past. He is a single father of a teenager, a school going middle class, and the father of his life has known failure, alcohol and the harsh mountainous life of the hills. The son, who has grown up in search of his own identity, feels shame for the father that he is less than she expected. When the father's past arrives at the old mountain house and the son is forced to watch him, the two sets of the family of the father-son relationship and the old conflict of the family are opened to the audience in a journey from the Ghoom Railway Station to the high pass of Sandakphu, across the beautiful scenery of the queen of the hills, Kalimpong and the fields of Bat سstay and the pictures of the cloud.
