Pujar Sarki is a 2024 Nepali social drama film written by Bikash Subedi and directed by the national award winning filmmaker Dinesh Raut for the banner of Kingdom Network, produced by Subash Bhusal. The film was released in Nepali theatres on 23 May 2024, on the occasion of the Buddha Jayanti, and it took audience and the critics by surprise with its sharp, emotional and political story, becoming a huge commercial success and one of the highest grossing Nepali films of the year, with the box office collection of about 7.37 crore rupees. Running time of the film is 138–139 minutes and it is a pure drama of the society.

The story begins in the era of the year 2046 BBS and follows three individuals: the young Damai boy Maita, played by Pradeep Khadka, a Magar girl Gaumaya, played by Parikshya Limbu, and a Brahmin priest Pujar, played by Aaryan Sigdel. The film shows a love that becomes a victim of the caste system. Maita loves Gaumaya, but a priest of the temple, Pujar, also has his own secret relationship with the Kami girl, the cleaning woman, playing by Anjana Baraili. When the priest offers to silently marry the couple under the cover of the church conventions, the local communist party agent, Meghraj, played by Paul Shah, uses them, the world of politics in the village gets mixed with the transformation of the people, and the man of the lower society has to choose between religion, politics and the rights of his own people.

The film explicitly draws the reality of the caste discrimination against the Dalit community, and comes with the strong slogan of the justice for all. The director said in the media that the film has no direct relation with the Rukum incident, but the story of the film is inspired by the social violence that still exists in the name of caste, and the story and the screenplay are 100 percent fictitious and artistic. The cinematography of the film is handled by Rajesh Shrestha, and the background score is given by Shailendra Shrestha. After finishing its long and successful theatrical run, Pujar Sarki was uploaded by the makers for free on YouTube, so that the message of the film can reach everybody in the country and outside.
