Prasad 2 is a 2023 Nepali social drama film written by Sushil Poudel and directed by Sudarshan Thapa, who was also one of the leading faces of the movie. Produced under the banner of Shuvash Thapa Production, the film is a sequel to the acclaimed Nepali social drama Prasad and once again brings the celebrated on-screen pair of Bipin Karki and Keki Adhikari back to the lead roles. The supporting cast includes Arpan Thapa, Mahesh Tripathi, Prakash Ghimire and Kamal Mani Nepal. The movie was released in Nepali theatres on 7 April 2023 and has a runtime of about two hours and eleven minutes, with cinematography handled by Dibas Lamsal and Rajesh Shrestha and editing by Milan Shrestha.

The story follows Baburam and Narayani, an inter-caste couple who were forced to flee their village and move to the city when the society around them rejected their love marriage. After twelve years of living in the city, they return to the village with their nine-year-old son, Prasad, believing that the new republican constitution of Nepal now protects them, since untouchability based on caste has been declared a crime. But the couple quickly learns that the old prejudices are still very much alive. Narayani is wounded again by the discrimination she faces for marrying a man from a lower caste, and Baburam decides that the time has come to fight back, so he stands in the village election to end caste injustice in their community.

His biggest obstacle turns out to be closer to home, because his rival in the election is his own brother-in-law, Ajay, who belongs to a rich and powerful family and who tries to buy the votes of the lower caste people. When the crafty outsider Ramesh arrives in the village, the lives of Baburam and Narayani are turned upside down, and the film builds toward a painful question about whether love can ever conquer the divisions that the society has created. Prasad 2 is a film about society, politics and relationships, with strong performances from the whole ensemble, and reviews praised the honest acting of Bipin Karki and Keki Adhikari in the lead roles. After its successful theatre run, the movie was later made available for streaming on MSM Video, so that a new generation of Nepali audience can watch this moving and sometimes devastating portrait of the fight for equality and respect.
