Nango Gau is a 2024 Nepali political drama film, written and directed by the filmmaker Dipendra Lama, who is known for his stories of the society of Nepal, and produced by Jaya Shrestha under the production house of Clock Work Creation. The story of the film was written by the director, and the film was released in the cinemas of Nepal on 15 September 2023. The movie was shot in the rural areas of the Kavrepalanchok district in about 33 days of the shooting, and the film collected about 4.10 crore rupees at the Nepali box office against the estimated budget of about 1.5 crore.

Nango Gau means the naked village, and the title of the film is a metaphor for the reality of the Nepali villages. The story starts from the school of a village: the honest teacher Pasang, played by the actor Daya Hang Rai, tries hard to improve the government school of his village, but the chairman of the village, Jari Lama, played by the actor Shishir Bandel, is a corrupt politician who has been dominating the village for many years. The villagers, fed up with the rule of the politician, push Pasang to enter the village politics and to fight the election of the chairman against Jari. Pasang does not want to enter the politics, but seeing the pain of the villagers he accepts the challenge. The wife Nima, played by Mimura Magar, his students, the parents and the friends support Pasang, and he resigns from the job of the teacher and becomes a candidate of the election.

But the politics of the village is not as clean and easy as the honest teacher assumed. The corrupt system of the village, the tricks of the opponents, the money power and the false promises of the politicians all stand against the honest candidate, and Pasang learns that the road of the election is more dirty than the road of the clouds. The film shows the culture of the village politics of Nepal and the hard struggle of the honest people against the system. The film stars Dayanghai Rai, Miruna Magar, Karma Shakya, Samragyee RL Shah and Buddhi Tamang, with the new face of the film youth in the roles of the village. The dance, the music, the life of the village and the painful politics are the strength of the film, which was presented to the audience of the whole society of the country from the cinema halls.
