The film was produced by Binod Gurung and Norbu Tshering under the banner of Sambhrihi Entertainment and Movie, and it was released in theaters on 4 May 2018 with a runtime of 2 hours and 9 minutes. The film stars Khagendra Lamichhane in the title role of Damaru, with Anup Baral, Menuka Pradhan, Buddhi Tamang, Laxmi Giri, Sushil Sitaula, Prakash Ghimire and Bipin Karki in the principal cast. The title of the film refers to the traditional Nepali sport of Dandi Biyo, the national game of the country, and the film was promoted as a story about a young man who dreams of reviving this forgotten sport.
