Radha, internationally released under the title The Secrets of Radha, is a 2022 Nepali social drama film written and directed by the veteran filmmaker Subarna Thapa, known for his earlier films like Bato Muniko Phool 2, Fanko and Ma. The film was released in Nepali cinemas on 26 August 2022 and runs for about one hour and fifty seven minutes. It is an independent picture that came from a group of production houses including Aadiyogi Vision, Mandala Online, Maharani Entertainment UK, Ami Films and Mana Production, with the noted actor Saugat Malla also involved as one of the producers of the film.

The story follows Radha, a young woman of about twenty five years from a remote village in Nepal, who is eight weeks pregnant when her young husband Basudev leaves the village one day and disappears. Basudev was working as a migrant labourer in the Middle East, in the city of Doha, Qatar, and when he goes missing the family keeps the matter a secret. To protect the mother-in-law from grief and from the shame of the village, Radha hires a local artist and performer named Sundar, a young man who pretends to be her husband and copies his voice on the phone, so that the old woman believes her son is still alive. When the mother-in-law dies, a letter arrives saying that Basudev has been found, and Radha begins a difficult journey together with Sundar towards the city and the truth.

Instead of a happy reunion, she falls into an intriguing web of lies, deception and fraud, not only behind the disappearance of her own husband, but also of many other workers who left Nepal for the Gulf countries and never returned home. The picture speaks quietly and honestly about the families who are left behind, the pressure of the villages, and the pain of the women who are left alone. The story is shaped by the real experience of the director, whose own father disappeared when he was a small child, and the movie was shot in the hills of the mid western region of Nepal. The cast of the film includes Shristi Shrestha in the lead role, supported by Saugat Malla, Dayahang Rai, Nischal Basnet, Buddhi Tamang, Khagendra Lamichhane, Menuka Pradhan, Divya Dev, Sunil Pokharel, Lokendra Lekhak, Pashupati Rai and Ashant Sharma. After the theatre run, the makers placed The Secrets of Radha on YouTube for free, so that the story of the families of the Gulf workers can reach everywhere.
