Poi Paryo Kale is a 2019 Nepali family drama that was released in the cinemas of Nepal on 25 October 2019. The film was written and directed by Sishir Rana, who also acted in a supporting role, and it was produced by Kiran Nepali under the banner of Red Bird Production, with the producers including Deepak Manage, Raghu Pariyar and Arjun Khaniya. The picture is a satire on the colourism, and the title of the movie means the husband is dark. The film brought together some of the most popular actors of the Nepali cinema, and it became one of the most talked about movies of the year 2076.

The story of the film revolves around Pooja, played by Pooja Sharma, a young fair-skinned girl who hates everything dark or black, because she has had a lifetime of bad experiences with the black things. She rejects a love proposal from Radheshyam, a Madhesi man, and she announces to her friends that she will marry a nice, fair man. She dates Aakash, who has fair skin, but she discovers that he is a father to two children and has a dark-skinned wife. Betrayed, Pooja asks her parents to find her a groom, and they find Gaurab, played by Saugat Malla, a rich, successful and soft-spoken man with dark skin. Knowing that their daughter will never agree to marry someone dark, they trick her, and Pooja ends up married to Gaurab despite protesting dramatically. Pooja goes on to live with Gaurab as a sad bride, and she hides her husband from all her friends. When her friend Kriti, played by Shristi Shrestha, announces that she will be staying with Pooja for a few days, they devise a plan to introduce Nil, the fair-skinned friend of Gaurab played by Aakash Shrestha, as the husband of Pooja. Nil falls for Kriti on the first sight, but Kriti is attracted to the dark men, so Nil dons the blackface and introduces himself to Kriti as a darker twin brother.

The cast of the film included Sohit Manandhar, Surakshya Panta, Kiran Nepali, Shristi Khadka, Rajaram Poudel, Binda Khatiwoda, Shyam Rai and Gopal Dhakal in the supporting roles. The film was shot in the beautiful locations of Pokhara and Mustang, and it runs for about two hours. The movie received a mixed response; the reviewer of the Kathmandu Post heavily criticized the film for its insensitivity, while the reviewer of OnlineKhabar wrote that the movie turns out to be a parody that attacks the narrow-mindedness of the people who do not like the dark-skinned people just because of the colour, and it imparts the intended lesson via a unique plot.
