Punte Parade

Punte Parade is a 2014 Nepali comedy film directed by Subash Koirala and produced by Hari Mahat, Suraj Koirala and Anil Adhikari under the banner of Shahan Movie Makers. The movie was released in theaters on September 19, 2014, and stars Samyam Puri in the title role, with Anjila Dahal, Nilu Doma Sherpa and Najir Husen in leading roles, along with Rabindra Khadka, Sweta Tiwari, Geeta Adhikari and Saroj Shrestha in supporting parts. Priyanka Karki appears in a special appearance.

The concept of the film was developed by Nilu Doma Sherpa, and the screenplay was written by Shan Basnyat. The title refers to a mischievous character type, and Samyam Puri, who had debuted with the film Saayad in 2012, plays Punte in eleven different characters. Puri described the character as one built out of pure love, explaining that everyone has a Punte inside them, whether it is the little voice telling you to do the thing your parents told you not to do, or the child in you that wants to be a carefree thirteen year old when all that mattered was unlimited fun with your friends. The movie stems from all those mischievous little thoughts that kept people sane during the late teens, when life takes a turn and people transition into the adults they will be for the rest of their lives.

The music for Punte Parade was composed by Tara Prakash Limbu and Tek Nanda Lama, while the cinematography was handled by Babu Shrestha and the editing by Ujjwal Dhakal. Uttam Neupane served as the sound designer, and the film was co-produced by Santosh Rumba, Jay Ram Pariyar and Raj Kumar Patel. Singer Nattu Shah made his debut in the film industry with a song in the movie.

The film's first look poster was released in May 2014, and its trailer drew attention for the many disguises worn by Samyam Puri. Punte Parade was distributed by Darshana Arts and offered audiences a family-friendly comedy centered on the playful side of human nature.

The movie contributed to the comedy genre that was flourishing in Nepali cinema in 2014, and it remains a memorable showcase for Samyam Puri's versatility and the comic talents of its supporting cast.
