Lappan Chhappan is a Nepali gangster comedy film that was released in theatres on 24 March 2017. The film was directed by Mukunda Bhatta, and the story, the screenplay and the dialogue of the picture were written by Prabesh Poudel and Prakash Jung Shah. The film was produced by Damber Bahadur Chand and co-produced by Indra Prasad Kharel. The picture was a big production of its time, because it was shot not only in Nepal but also in Belgium and in other parts of Europe.

The cast of the film included Saugat Malla, Dayahang Rai, Arpan Thapa, Barsha Siwakoti, Devu Shrestha and Prakash Jung Shah in the main roles. The story of the film follows the criminal Banka Don, played by Saugat Malla, who lives in Belgium and who runs a ring of crime in Nepal through a person called Chamero Don, played by Arpan Thapa. When a woman named Baby arrives in Nepal to hack a chip from a corrupt former political leader, the police inspector Tanka Bahadur Tamang, played by Dayahang Rai, reaches Belgium to catch the Banka Don.

The title of the film came from a popular song of the film Kabaddi Kabaddi of the year 2015, and the word Lappan Chhappan means the dishonesty and the deception of the life. The film mixed the comedy with the action of the gangster world, and it was presented as one of the big films of the year 2017 in the Nepali cinema.

Lappan Chhappan was one of the awaited releases of its season, and the film was praised for the performances of its actors. The movie was later followed by the second part Lappan Chhappan 2, which was also directed by Mukunda Bhatta and released on 4 March 2022. The first film of the series remains a memory of the Nepali gangster comedy of the decade of 2010.
