How Funny

How Funny is a 2016 Nepali comedy film that was released in the cinemas of Nepal on 22 April 2016 with a UA certificate from the censor board. The film was directed by Nilu Doma Sherpa in her feature film debut, and it was produced by Malvika Subba under the joint banners of Eyecore Films Nepal and A Tiny But Big Pictures. The story of the movie was written by the director herself, the screenplay was written by Shan Basnyat, and the picture became known as a woman centric film, because the majority of the cast and the production team were women, and the film was shown from the point of view of the women.

The plot of the film revolves around two friends, Ramita, played by Priyanka Karki, and Pushpa, played by Keki Adhikari, who venture out to find a missing girl. When Heera, played by Nisha Adhikari, the daughter of a renowned businessman, goes missing, Police Inspector Tej Bahadur Rai, played by Dayahang Rai, has difficulties in discovering her whereabouts. He then hires the two village girls, Pushpa and Ramita, in the hope that he might solve the case with their assistance. The two girls are initially happy with the offer, but they have plans of their own, and the movie follows their funny adventures as the two friends play the detectives working to find the missing girl. The film is a pure comedy, and the reviewer of the Himalayan Times wrote that the USP of the movie is the humour, calling it a laugh riot that guarantees a good time.

The cast of the film included Bijay Baral, Anoop Bikram Shahi and Shishir Rana in the supporting roles, with the actor Sandip Chettri in a special appearance. The cinematography of the movie was handled by Shiva Ram Shrestha, the editing was done by Nimesh Shrestha, the songs were composed by Basanta Sapkota, and the background scores were composed by Shailesh Shrestha. How Funny runs for about two hours and eighteen minutes, and after the first week of screening in the Kathmandu valley, it was reported to have netted about thirty lakh rupees during that debut week.
