Feri Resham Filili

Feri Resham Filili is a 2025 Nepali comedy drama film written and directed by Niroj Maharjan, and it is the sequel of the popular 2015 movie Resham Filili, which was directed by Pranab Joshi. The film was produced by Raunak Bikram Kandel under the banner of Cinema Art Production in association with V Motion Pictures, distributed by Kafiya Films, and released in the cinemas of Nepal on 26 February 2025 on the occasion of the Maha Shivaratri festival. The movie runs for about two hours and twenty one minutes, and it brings back the hero of the first part, the actor Vinay Shrestha, in the role of Resham, with a new and big story of the village of the Nepali comedy.

The story of the film starts when Resham wins the lottery of the American visa, the famous DV lottery of the United States. The news spreads in his village like the fire, and the tensions between the neighbors and the relatives slowly rise, because everyone wants a piece of the fortune of the lucky winner. But the dreams of the hero are broken before he can reach America, and he finds himself stuck, alone and far from the dream. At this point, he meets his old and unreliable friend Hariya, played by Kameshwor Chaurasiya, and the two friends start a crazy journey of the city, chasing the dream of the foreign land in the middle of the lies, the jealousy, the funny troubles and the fight for the survival of the young men of Nepal.

Besides the two heroes, the film features a big cast of the Nepali cinema: the actress Supuspa Bhatta, Neer Bikram Shah, Laxmi Giri, Prakash Ghimire, Rabindra Jha, Shishir Bangdel, Mahesh Tripathi, Avon Raj Upreti, Laxminath Timilsina, Suresh Aryal, Ramesh Adhikari, Sajan Thapa, Bikash Joshi, Bhishma Joshi, Mexam Gaudel, Prakash Dahal, Sara Adhikari, Aaditya Mishra, Kajal Karna and Rizoon Pariyar. The director Niroj Maharjan wrote the screenplay together with Aakash Baral, and the cinematography is handled by Sushan Prajapati with the music of Rohit Shakya. The movie delivers a funny and honest message about the young people of Nepal who dream of going abroad, and after the theatrical run the full film was uploaded by the makers for free on the YouTube platform.
