Buy NowLappan Chhappan 2 is a 2020 Nepali gangster action drama film directed by Mukunda Bhatta, who also wrote the screenplay and dialogues and served as the action director of the film. It is the sequel to the 2017 gangster film Lappan Chhappan, continuing the violent world of crime and power that made the first film popular among Nepali audiences. The film was presented by Khilendra Raj Timsina and features an ensemble cast led by Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa and Anoop Bikram Shahi, with Dayahang Rai, Kishor Bhatta, Deepak Chhetri, Carolyn Collinda, Sarita Giri, Akram Joseph, Prakash Kunwar, Nabin Manandhar, Ranjeet Manjrekar and others in the cast. The movie was shot in various locations across Europe, giving the crime story an international scale.
The plot of the film is set during a high-stakes political crisis, where a political kingmaker and his underworld connections dispatch a criminal named Chamero to recover millions of dollars in black money, meant to fund a political party's bid for power. The dangerous world of crime and deception is deepened as the story picks up from where the first film left off. Bankaa Don, played by Saugat Malla, finds himself entangled in a high-stakes battle for power, while Chamero, played by Arpan Thapa, and other key players maneuver through betrayals and shifting alliances.
Inspector Tank Bdr Tamang, played by Dayahang Rai, remains determined to bring justice, but the criminals always seem to be one step ahead. As the plot unfolds, new characters enter the fray, including a mysterious godfather figure and a ruthless enforcer. The film is packed with action sequences, intense confrontations and unexpected twists, keeping audiences on edge, with the tagline 'The dangerous game is about to begin' hinting at the escalating tension of the story.
The film was released in 2020, during a period of disruption for Nepali cinema, and was initially scheduled for 25 February and then moved to 4 March 2020, with the film remaining a notable entry in the Nepali gangster genre for its action choreography and its European locations.
