Scout (The Braves) is a Nepali film about the scout movement, released on 24 August 2017 during the Teej holidays, one of the most popular release windows in the Nepali film calendar. The film was directed and written by Govinda Gautam and presented by Madhu Kumar Shrestha, with Kedar Prasad Parajuli and Ishwor Tiwari as producers and Krishna Lamichhane as co-producer. It was a presentation of Shree Krishna Films in association with Nepal Scouts, the official scouting organisation of Nepal, which gives the film an unusual real-world backing for a commercial feature.

The movie tells the story of young people who join the scouts and looks at their lives, friendships and social work. Through their journey, it highlights how the discipline, teamwork and community service taught by the scout movement can shape young men and women into responsible citizens. The scout training sequences and outdoor camps give the film a fresh, youth-oriented feel that set it apart from the usual Kathmandu-set love stories of the period.

The leading cast features award-winning actress Garima Panta, for whom this was one of her final films before she left the industry and moved to Belgium, alongside Nawaraj Shrestha and Kushal Thapa. Madhu Kumar Shrestha, Sanjay Shrestha and Rakshya Shrestha also appear in significant roles. Rakshya Shrestha, already popular from the television serial Bhadragol, made her big-screen debut in the movie, while child artists Sangam Gautam, Rojina Shah and John Awasti rounded out the young cast.

The technical team was equally notable: music was composed by Basanta Sapkota and Bikash Chaudhary, action was designed by Roshan Shrestha, cinematography was handled by Ganesh Shrestha, and the film was edited by Arjun G.C., with background music by Ramji Lamichhane and VFX by Achyut Gajurel. The film was announced as early as March 2015, when its shooting was inaugurated at a ceremony attended by the then Minister of Information and Communication, Minendra Rijal.
