Buy NowK Yo Maya Ho is a 2011 Nepali love story film directed by Sudarshan Thapa, one of the leading directors of the Nepali film industry, and produced by Shankar Gurung and Gaurav Hirachan under the banner of SGS Entertainment, presented by Suresh Pahari. The movie was released in theaters on August 5, 2011, and stars Aaryan Sigdel, Saugat Malla, Sushma Karki and Arunima Lamsal in the lead roles, with Nir Shah, Rajaram Poudyal, Keshav Bhattarai, Kiran KC, Tara Sharma and Neer Bikram Shah in supporting parts.
The title of the film translates to Is This Love?, and the movie is a love story of friends living in the urban areas of Nepal. The story, screenplay and dialogue were written by Captain Niraj Vikram, with additional screenplay work by Kamal Mainali. The film follows the romantic entanglements of a group of young friends and explores how love develops among them.
The music of K Yo Maya Ho was composed by Sugam Pokharel, who was a frequent collaborator with director Sudarshan Thapa, and the cinematography was handled by Rajesh Shrestha. The action sequences were choreographed by N.B. Maharjan.
The film came from the makers of the hit movie Mero Auta Sathi Chha, the blockbuster remake of the Korean film Millionaire's First Love that established Sudarshan Thapa as a top director in 2009. His reputation for romantic movies with strong emotional elements carried expectations into this new release, which featured the popular pairing of Aaryan Sigdel and Sushma Karki alongside the rising actor Saugat Malla.
K Yo Maya Ho is an important film in the filmography of director Sudarshan Thapa, who went on to direct Mero Love Story, Dhanda, Madhumas, Prem Geet and Ma Yesto Geet Gauchhu. The movie remains an example of the urban romantic comedy of the early 2010s and a stepping stone in the careers of its young cast.
