Malati Ko Bhatti

Malati Ko Bhatti is a Nepali love story film that was released in theatres on 13 July 2012 with a UA certificate from the censor board. The film was directed by Ganesh Dev Pandey, who also wrote the story, the screenplay and the dialogue of the picture, and it was presented by Pradeep Kumar Udaya. The title of the film refers to the place called "Malati Ko Bhatti", around which the events of the story revolve.

The cast of the film included Jiwan Luitel, Nandita K.C., Laxmi Giri, Rekha Thapa, Uttam K.C. and Sunil Thapa in the main roles. The film tells the story of a person named Aditya Sharma, played by Jiwan Luitel, who is frustrated with his life because of his unhappy love marriage with his wife Sabitri, played by Nandita K.C. Sabitri is more attracted to the casinos, the clubs, the parties and the gambling of the city life than to her family.

Aditya soon becomes an alcoholic and begins to visit a bar called Malati Ko Bhatti frequently, where he meets Malati, played by Rekha Thapa, and starts a new relationship with her. After some days Aditya is beaten by some gangsters and is admitted to the hospital. When he returns home after his discharge, he finds neither his wife nor Malati, and the whole movie revolves around the mysterious disappearance of these two women.

Who kidnapped the women, who planned all this and why, are the questions that the story asks of the audience, and the film mixes the love story with the mystery and the suspense of the city life. The picture was one of the many love and mystery dramas that the Nepali industry released in the year 2012, and it remains a part of the record of that period of the cinema of the country.
