Utsav is a 2014 Nepali love story film written and directed by Kumar Bhattarai, who made his directorial debut with this movie. Bhattarai had earlier established himself as the scriptwriter of critically acclaimed Nepali films like Dasdhunga and Uma, and his debut as a director was one of the most anticipated projects of the year. The film was produced by Shekhar Koirala under the banner of The Showbiz Productions.

Utsav was released in Nepali cinemas on August 29, 2014, with a UA certification. The film tells the story of five best friends: the characters played by Saugat Malla, Gaurav Pahari, Sanjog Koirala, Menuka Pradhan and Prakriti Shrestha. The story follows the ups and downs that come in the lives of these friends, celebrating friendship while also exploring the challenges that time, career and love bring into their relationships.

The supporting cast includes Shyam Rai, Dhruba Koirala, Rashmi Bhatta, Sandip Chhetri, Purnendu Jha, Master Samyak Tamrakar, Roy Dev Shrestha and Reema Koirala. In January 2015, Utsav was screened in the 22nd edition of Cinemandu, the Kathmandu International Film Festival, where director Kumar Bhattarai and actors Saugat Malla and Sanjog Koirala joined the screening.

In August 2016, the full movie of Utsav was released online for free, allowing the film to reach a much wider audience beyond its theatrical run. The film's honest storytelling about friendship resonated with those who watched it, and this free release gave the movie a second life, introducing Utsav to audiences who had missed its original run in the theatres.
