Timro Kasam

Timro Kasam, which translates to "Your Oath", is a Nepali romantic drama that was released on 9 August 2013 as the solo film in theatres that week. The movie was directed by Dinesh Raj Sharma, who also wrote the story, and was presented by Deepak Shrestha under the AD Entertainment banner. The film was produced by Aite Lama and Dawang Tamang, with Bishwo Thapa and Shakti Gurung serving as co-producers.

The film stars Subash Meche and Pujana Pradhan in the leading roles, a pairing that was well received by audiences of the time. The supporting cast included Laxman Basnet, Sunil Thapa, Dinesh D.C., Surbir Pandit, Mukunda Kishor Bhattarai, Sashi Khadka, Mamta Pradhan, Santosh Dhakal, Puran Thapa, Shanti Rana, Madhav Pandit, Roshani Sapkota and Gokul K.C., giving the movie a large and experienced ensemble that was typical of mid-2010s Nepali commercial cinema.

As the title suggests, the story revolves around love, promises and the weight of an oath taken between two people. It deals with the sacrifices and misunderstandings that test a relationship, and the question of whether a promise made in love can survive the pressures of family and society — a theme that has been a staple of Nepali romance films.

The technical credits were equally solid: Harinarayan Chaudhary handled the cinematography, the music was composed by Bikash Chaudhari, editing was done by Tara Thapa, and the action sequences were choreographed by Dev Maharjan, while Deepak Shrestha worked as the choreographer. With a runtime of about 2 hours 18 minutes, the film was a typical entertainer of its time, mixing romance, drama and song sequences. The full movie is available to watch for free on YouTube, where it continues to find new viewers, and it remains a good example of the commercial romantic dramas that defined Nepali cinema in 2013.

The film was screened in single-screen halls across the country in the traditional distribution style of the time, and it remains one of the few Nepali films of that year built around the theme of an oath and its emotional weight in a relationship. For audiences of romantic Nepali cinema, Timro Kasam offers a classic take on love, honour and commitment, and the full movie can be watched online for free on YouTube.
