Saino

Saino is a 2019 Nepali drama film directed by Ramesh Thapa. The film was produced by the veteran actress Bhuwan Chand under the banner of Chandra Binayak Film Production, with Chand herself playing an important role in the movie. With a running time of 114 minutes, Saino was released in Nepali cinemas on August 9, 2019.

The cast of the film includes Nita Dhungana, Miruna Magar, Raj Kumar and Bhuwan Chand in the leading roles, supported by Basundhara Bhusal, Madandash Shrestha, Roydeep Shrestha and Raja Rajendra Pokharel among others. The story is built around a triangular love relationship between the characters played by Miruna Magar, Raj Kumar and Nita Dhungana.

The film explores the emotional complications that arise when three people find themselves entangled in a web of love and attraction. As is common in Nepali social dramas, the story examines how such relationships affect families and communities, and it delivers a message about the values that should guide human relationships.

Saino also featured an item song titled "Kya Baat Chha", which was sung by Meena Niraula and composed by Kiran Bhusal. The song was promoted as a hot avatar of the film and was used to attract the attention of audiences before the release, a marketing strategy that was very common in Nepali commercial cinema of that period.

One of the interesting aspects of the film was the participation of Miruna Magar, a model and actress who was making her mark in the industry. In interviews around the release, Magar spoke about the film's message, stating that Saino teaches its viewers about sanskar, which means cultural values and good conduct. This emphasis on values reflects the moral themes that the filmmakers intended to convey.

Saino represents the kind of family-oriented social drama that continues to find audiences in Nepal, where stories about love, relationships and cultural values remain popular. The film also highlights the contribution of Bhuwan Chand, one of the veteran figures of Nepali cinema, whose involvement in the production brought experience and respect to the project.
