Mr. Jholay is a 2018 Nepali comedy drama film written and directed by Ram Babu Gurung, one of the most respected writer-directors in Nepali cinema, who had previously directed the hugely popular Kabaddi series. The film was produced by Teken Khadka under the banner of Cinema Art Pvt. Ltd. and features practically the same team that gave audiences the Kabaddi films, including Dayahang Rai, Buddhi Tamang, Bijay Baral and others.

The cast of Mr. Jholay includes Dayahang Rai as Purne, Buddhi Tamang as Karne, Deeya Pun, Barsha Raut, Praween Khatiwada, Saroj Aryal, Bijay Baral, Laxmi Bardewa, Aruna Karki, Kamal Mani Nepal, Niru Khadka, Maotse Gurung, D.B. Gurung and Pushkar Gurung. The film was released in Nepali cinemas on January 12, 2018.

The story follows three middle-aged childhood friends, Purne, Karne and Guna Prasad, who are still bachelors and want to get married and settle down. Purne's mother wants to marry her son to the daughter of a rich villager, whose father has announced a hefty 1.5 million rupees as a dowry for her groom. Karne, who comes from a so-called untouchable caste, is in a one-sided love with the same girl. Meanwhile, Guna Prasad, a public school teacher, is unable to express his deep love for Karne's sister. The dreams and desires of each friend bring them into conflict, and the drama reaches its extreme when a hunter tourist enters the village, pushing their childhood friendship to the edge of a knife.

The music of the film was composed by Kali Prasad Baskota and Sujen Karki, with background music by Rohit Shakya. The cinematography was handled by Shailendra D. Karki and the editing by Nimesh Shrestha, two of the most prominent technicians in the industry.

Deeya Pun, who played a village girl in the film, was especially praised for her convincing performance, with her body language and dialogue delivery winning over critics despite her urban upbringing.

In December 2018, the full movie of Mr. Jholay was released on YouTube, where it continues to entertain audiences with its blend of humour and social commentary.
