Kagaz Patra is a 2019 Nepali comedy drama film written and directed by Apil Bista, produced by Khilendra Raj Timsina, Mukesh Regmi and Prajapati Siwakoti under the banners of Worldwide Films and Aus Cinema. The film was released in theaters on 22 March 2019, and it was promoted with a first-look poster featuring the four lead artists: Najir Hussen, Shilpa Maskey, Bholaraj Sapkota and Sarita Giri. It is a story of dreams, migration and the bureaucratic challenges of ordinary Nepali families.

The story revolves around Bunu, played by Shilpa Maskey, a young woman from a lower-middle-class family who has recently completed her nursing degree. She has loftier goals and ambitions: she wants to go to a developed country, preferably Australia, for further studies and a better profession. But her family, which has already spent most of its fortune educating her, cannot afford the costs of studying abroad, and no one is ready to help her.

Her older sister Devi, played by Sarita Giri, is haunted by nightmares about the future of her family: she dreams of her husband Rajkumar, played by Bholaraj Sapkota, going to a developed nation such as the United States or Australia and establishing a solid career. Since moving abroad is difficult, Bunu agrees to help her sister get a dependent visa if Devi financially supports her studies in return. The two sisters are determined to get each other's back, and together they set out to navigate the daunting challenges, the scams, and the desperate schemes of the migration world.

Rajkumar, a kind and humble man, cannot believe his ears when he learns of the sisters' schemes and manipulations. He would never consider playing illegally, but Devi persuades her husband to fabricate documents and seek a job abroad. When Rajkumar accepts his wife's proposal, things take an unexpected turn.

The film features Najir Husen, Laxmi Bardewa, Lokendra Lekhek, Jivan Bhattarai and Arjesh Regmi in supporting roles, and it was praised for its fresh cast and the realistic handling of the difficulties of Nepali migration. The music was composed by Sageet Sapkota and Basanta Sapkota, with editing by Nimesh Shrestha.
