Fanko is a 2016 Nepali action thriller film directed by Subarna Thapa, presented by Padam Gurung under the banner of HMMT and produced by Narendra Maharjan and Shahadev Gautam. The movie was released in theaters on January 15, 2016, the day of the Makar Sakranti festival, competing with Kafal Pakyo on the same date. It stars Saugat Malla, Dayahang Rai, Priyanka Karki and Keki Adhikari in the lead roles, with Keshab Bhattarai, Prakash Ghimire, Anup Baral, Arjun Gurung and Pradeep Dhakal in supporting parts.

The story follows Bhakti Thapa, played by Saugat Malla, a driver working for the businessman Dhamala, played by Keshav Bhattarai. Thapa is assigned to deliver one crore rupees to a politician in Kathmandu, and the movie narrates the obstacles he faces while making the journey from Pokhara to Kathmandu. When Buddhabir Rai, played by Dayahang Rai, learns that Thapa is traveling alone with such a huge amount of money, he chases Thapa with the intention of looting him. Lily, played by Priyanka Karki, assists Rai in the cat-and-mouse race. This catch-me-if-you-can race between the two is filled with fun, suspense, duping and action.

The Himalayan Times review noted that Saugat Malla and Keki Adhikari made a perfect on-screen couple, with their innocent appearance, western Nepal accents and love for each other, and their dance moves on the song Malai America Yehi made audiences laugh out loud. Dayahang Rai's stammering character kept viewers desperate for him to complete his sentences so the suspense could unfold, while Priyanka Karki impressed in her bold role as the villain, showing anger, frustration and love.

The music of Fanko was composed by Chetan Sapkota, with cinematography by Purushottam Pradhan. The film brought together some of the most talented artists in the Nepali film industry, including the two stars made popular by the success of Loot. Priyanka Karki's transparent dress at the premiere also made headlines at the time.

Fanko remains a well-remembered action entertainer of 2016, praised for keeping audiences on the edge of their seats with its road chase narrative and strong performances.
